Please be aware there will be extensive works taking place at Priory House. This will not affect the Jacobean Room or your wedding although there will be no lift access to the first floor, therefore all guests must use the stairs.  There will also be scaffolding erected at the front of the building with construction equipment and machinery in the car park. There will be no works taking place at the weekends.

Booking a Registrar

We recommend you visit us first and after your initial show round, we can then provisionally hold the date you’d like. During this time you will need to contact Central Bedfordshire registrars to ensure they are available for this date as well. You can book an appointment with the registrar online https://secure.cbc.zipporah.co.uk/Registrars/NoticeOfMarriageBookingProcess Or visit the Central Bedfordshire Council website for further information http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/registration/marriages-civil-partnerships/notice.aspx

Intended Planned Building Works at Priory House

Dunstable High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) involves building works and refurbishment including work to Priory House. The project, led by The Morton Partnership has been developing proposals to repair the vaults and adapt the building environment to conserve the historic fabric for the future.

This is exciting news for us to preserve and be able to enjoy our historic building for years to come. However, the Undercroft area in the Tea Rooms will be closed to be able to do the work and conserve the building.

This will not affect any Weddings being held here other than the use of a different room for the registars to use and no reserved parking next to our building for the duration of the work, the car park next to the Priory Church would be the best and walk through the gardens. There will be no works taking place at the weekends.

The front and side of Priory House Heritage Centre would have permanent staffolding around the building, hence not affecting the main entrance or the view from the room and photos across the grounds.
