Get ready for an exciting day of shopping, entertainment and community spirit as Dunstable’s Middle Row Market hosts the Young Traders Competition on Saturday 4 July.
This special event will see eighteen ambitious young entrepreneurs, aged between 16 and 30, showcasing their businesses and competing for the title of Best Young Trader in Dunstable. Supported by Dunstable Town Council, each young trader has been given a free stall and free insurance, helping them take their first steps into the world of market trading and business ownership.
The competition is part of the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) Young Traders Market national competition, giving these talented traders the opportunity to become part of a much bigger national network. By signing up as NMTF Young Traders, they can trade at markets across the country, enter other local competitions and build valuable experience for their growing businesses.
Judging will take place from 11.00 am by the Town Mayor of Dunstable, Councillor Richard Attwell, who will choose this year’s winner. The winning trader will receive a free weekend trading pitch at Dunstable’s popular Twilight Market this December, as well as the opportunity to progress to the Regional Finals. The winner, along with two finalists, will represent Dunstable at either Greenwich or Bury St Edmunds, with the chance to go on to the National Final in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Dunstable Town Council is proud to support young start-up businesses by offering future opportunities to trade at Middle Row Market for just £10 per pitch, with a free gazebo and table included. The Middle Row Market team will be on hand throughout the day to support and guide the traders as they develop their businesses.
Alongside the competition and our regular Middle Row traders, visitors can enjoy a fantastic family-friendly day out with free face painting, glitter tattoos, arts and crafts activities and plenty of great shopping.
