Dunstable Town Council’s Sunday Concerts once again proved popular with residents and visitors this year, helped by the glorious summer weather. Across the three events, audiences enjoyed a diverse programme of live music, with two performances at each concert, one at 12 noon and the second at 2.30 pm.
The concert series showcased a wide variety of musical styles, ensuring there was something for everyone. It was wonderful to see so many people attending and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere, with audiences coming together to appreciate live music in the heart of the community.
The first Sunday Concert, held on 21 June, featured performances from the RAF Halton Area Voluntary Band and the Dunstable Salvation Army Band. Both ensembles delighted audiences with a varied programme of music, including selections from stage and screen, original compositions and well-known favourites.
On 26 July, the Wayland Smithy Band entertained the crowd with a lively repertoire of ceilidh favourites, sea shanties and songs from the musicals. The afternoon continued with a performance by Dunstable Town Band, which treated audiences to a mixture of show tunes and classic sing-along numbers.
The final Sunday Concert of the season featured the Beati Vocal Ensemble and Five Star Swing. The Beati Vocal Ensemble showcased its rich and diverse harmonies through a programme of jazz, pop, choral music, musical theatre and original compositions. Five Star Swing then brought the golden age of swing and jazz to life, performing timeless classics made famous by Glenn Miller, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and many more.

Throughout the series, it was wonderful to see people of all ages come together to enjoy the music, relax with family and friends, and make the most of the summer atmosphere.
It has been fantastic to see so many people attending this year's Sunday Concerts. The range of performances provided something for everyone, and it was lovely to see audiences enjoying themselves and coming together as a community.
