Dunstable Comes Together for a Spectacular Party in the Park Celebration

Thousands of residents and visitors came together on Saturday 18 July to enjoy a spectacular day of live entertainment, family fun and community spirit as Party in the Park returned to Grove House Gardens.


Organised by Dunstable Town Council, the free event attracted crowds throughout the day, with visitors enjoying a packed programme of live performances, family activities, market stalls, delicious food and drink, and entertainment for all ages.

The event showcased an impressive line-up of local talent, beginning with THE PAD, who delighted the audience with a musical rendition of Oliver! MEGZ captivated the audience with a powerful performance of “Shallow”. by Lady Gaga.

Three emerging local bands demonstrated the wealth of musical talent within the town. The Aspects performed a mix of popular covers and original material, Avenida, a rock band representing Queensbury Academy, brought high-energy performances to the stage, and The Meerkats entertained the crowd with well-loved covers, including “Life Is a Highway” from Disney-Pixar’s Cars.

The public also had the opportunity to take centre stage as Queensway Karaoke returned by popular demand. The afternoon featured a special tribute to the legendary Bonnie Tyler, with attendees enthusiastically joining together for a memorable sing-along of “Total Eclipse of the Heart”.

Adding a unique highlight to this year’s Party in the Park line-up, Dubafrique delivered a vibrant celebration of African music and culture. The ensemble energised the audience with powerful drumming, uplifting songs and spirited dance performances that invited audience participation.

Designed to keep younger guests fully entertained, the FREE Under-16s KidZone delivered a thrilling array of attractions. Children tested their skills at Nerf Wars and children’s axe throwing, bounced on inflatable slides, got creative with arts and crafts, and marvelled at fun fair side shows.

On-site entertainment continued throughout the day with face painting, funfair rides, storytelling, and an enthusiastic K-Pop Party, where kids showed off their best moves alongside iconic K-pop characters. There was also a teepee chill out zone where everyone could relax.

As the day progressed, excitement continued to build ahead of an unforgettable evening of live music on stage. Headline performances had the crowd singing and dancing along, creating a fantastic atmosphere.

Black Lace delivered a dose of feel-good nostalgia as attendees of all ages danced and sang along to timeless party classics, “Superman” and “Agadoo”.

Leigh Francis’s interacted with the crowd, alongside playing some classic hits that got the attendees involved in a sing along.

N-Trance brought Party in the Park to an unforgettable conclusion with a mash up of songs and closing with their classic hit of “Set You Free”.
