On Saturday 4 July, Dunstable Town Council hosted its annual Middle Row Market -National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) Young Trader Market. Young traders showcased a range of products including, floral candles, bleach clothing, silk florals, artisan bakes, handmade crafts, and Afro-Caribbean food.
The Middle Row Market NMTF Young Trader Market is a key initiative aimed at supporting young people aged 16 to 30 by providing them with a platform to test their business ideas, gain real-world retail experience, and connect with the local community.
Dunstable Town Mayor Cllr Richard Attwell and the Mayor’s consort Patricie, spent the day visiting the stalls, speaking with each participant, and judging the competition. The market showcased an impressive array of local talent and creativity, with traders evaluated on three key criteria: display, product, and pricing.
After a day of tough competition and incredibly high-quality presentations, Dunstable Town Council is proud to announce the winners of the NMTF Middle Row Young Trader Market:
Overall Winner: Skye (Country House Treats) – natural dog treats
2nd Place: Katie (Iced by Katie)- handmade cakes and cookies
3rd Place: Magan (Magan’s Bleach Art) – bespoke bleach art clothing
For the third consecutive year, Skye from Country House Treats has been crowned the winner of the Young Trader Market. Following her success, Skye will receive a free weekend trading pitch at Dunstable’s popular Twilight Market this December.
Skye, Katie and Magan will also progress to trade at the Regional Finals in either Greenwich or Bury St Edmunds. From there, regional winners will secure an invitation to the National Final in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
