As part of the Dunstable in Bloom campaign, the Town Centre Manager encouraged local businesses to take part in an 'In Bloom' Window Competition, inviting them to create vibrant floral-themed displays that celebrate community pride, enhance the appearance of the town centre, and support Dunstable's participation in the wider In Bloom campaign.
The Town Mayor of Dunstable Councillor Richard Attwell joined the Town Centre Manager and Town Centre Assistant to judge the colourful floral-themed window displays created by businesses throughout the town centre.
The judges were impressed by the exceptional effort, creativity and attention to detail demonstrated in this first-of-its-kind competition. From vibrant floral arrangements to eye-catching decorations, the participating businesses brought a welcome splash of colour to the town centre while supporting Dunstable ahead of the Britain in Bloom judges’ visit.
After much deliberation, the judges selected the following winners:
First Place: Moody Styles Hair Salon
Second Place: Tufty’s Flowers and Cards
Third Place: 69ers Private Hire Ltd
All businesses that took part in the competition were presented with a certificate of participation and a bouquet of flowers in recognition of their efforts and contribution to the Dunstable in Bloom campaign.
First and second place winners, Moody Styles Hair Salon and Tufty’s Flowers and Cards have been invited to attend the Dunstable in Bloom Presentation Evening on Wednesday 30 September, where they will join the celebration of the town’s achievements and be formally presented with their awards.
"It was a pleasure to see so many businesses embracing the spirit of Dunstable in Bloom. The creativity and effort that went into the displays was truly impressive, and each participant has played an important role in helping to brighten our town centre. Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to making Dunstable look so vibrant and welcoming." Town Mayor of Dunstable Councillor Richard Attwell
Dunstable Town Council would like to extend its thanks to all businesses that entered the competition and helped make this year’s event such a success. Their support continues to play a vital role in creating an attractive and flourishing town centre that can be enjoyed by the whole community.
