Residents enjoyed two days of free family entertainment and live performances as Ashton Square came alive for a special summer weekend event on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 August.

Organised by Dunstable Town Council, the event offered something for all ages, with visitors enjoying FREE face painting, FREE soft play, a FREE retro arcade and a packed programme of live entertainment on the community stage.

Friday evening focused on bringing people together to enjoy a range of street food vendors, alongside food and craft stalls as part of Middle Row Markets. From 4 pm, visitors were treated to performances from Ethan Shu, Silas, Tony Vocals, FizzyLizzy and ForeverCol, creating a lively atmosphere in the town centre.

The celebrations continued on Saturday with an array of craft and food stalls throughout Ashton Square, offering visitors the opportunity to browse local craft, while taking in a full day of live entertainment.

The community stage showcased a variety of local talent and community groups, including performances from The Square Singers, Imagination Majorettes, Buskerteers Choir, The Salvation Army, Jordan Richardson-Hill and Swing Dance MK. Their performances attracted audiences throughout the day and highlighted the wealth of talent within the local community.

"It was wonderful to see Ashton Square bustling with residents and visitors across both days of the event. The combination of fantastic live entertainment, local traders, family activities and free attractions created a welcoming atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
I would like to thank all of the performers, stallholders, food vendors and officers who helped make the weekend such a success. Events like these play an important role in bringing our community together and supporting our town centre." Town Mayor of Dunstable, Councillor Richard Attwell

The event formed part of Dunstable Town Council’s ongoing programme of community events, showcasing local talent, supporting independent traders and providing free activities for residents and visitors, while once again demonstrating the important role such events play in creating a vibrant, welcoming and thriving town centre.
