Dunstable will celebrate St George’s Day on Saturday 18 April with a vibrant programme of family-friendly activities across the town centre and Priory Gardens. The day begins at 9.30 am in Middle Row Markets and The Square, before continuing into Priory Gardens from 11 am to 4 pm, creating a full day of entertainment for visitors of all ages.

At Middle Row Markets, visitors can explore a bustling St George’s Day Market featuring more than 35 local traders offering a variety of food, gifts and handmade crafts. Families can take part in a free Knights Trail running from 10 am to 3 pm, where children will receive a goodie bag upon completion. Additional highlights include free children’s craft activities, a tabletop gaming area hosted by More Than Board Games, and a free children’s Waltzer ride in The Square, ensuring plenty to keep younger visitors entertained.

From 11 am, Priory Gardens (LU6 3RZ) will host a medieval celebration, packed with interactive activities and live entertainment. Children can meet St George, train at the Knight’s School, and test their skills with jousting and archery. Storytelling sessions will bring the legend of St George and the Dragon to life, while animal encounters and a lively DJ Dragon Dance Party add to the excitement.

Visitors can also enjoy a thrilling fighting knights display, the educational Dragon 101 show, and meet both a Giant Dragon and a Baby Dragon as they roam around the park. Traditional Punch and Judy performances, live music from Dunstable Town Band and morris dancing with the Aldbury Morris Men, alongside arts, crafts, stalls and catering, will create a lively and festive atmosphere throughout the afternoon.
