UK Shared Prosperity Funded (UKSPF) Initiatives

The Council was awarded £91,000 from Central Bedfordshire Council through their UKSPF funding and was given 12 months to invest it in capital improvements for enhancing the town centre. This funding has provided an opportunity to support both new initiatives and ongoing improvements, creating a more vibrant and sustainable space for everyone.

Living Pillars

The LivingPillars® on High Street North mark a significant milestone in Dunstable’s ongoing efforts to create a greener, more sustainable urban environment. The planters feature a combination of 50% perennial and 50% shrub planting. They are an inviting habitat for pollinators and other wildlife, and help to maintain and boost biodiversity in Dunstable.

Solar Benches

The solar benches aim to enhance Dunstable’s public spaces, reduce carbon emissions, and provide residents and visitors with convenient renewable energy-powered charging facilities which will offer users the ability to charge their phones, tablets, and other small electronic devices, using clean solar energy.
