During the last week the Mayor, Cllr Liz Jones, has had chance to recharge her batteries with fewer engagements than of late and some time with her family.
On Tuesday she was invited along to the newest business in the Quadrant, Benjamins Cafe, where she was shown around the refurbished unit and given the opportunity to try the lunchtime menu.
Minds2gether celebrated their 5th anniversary on Friday, and on Friday morning the Mayor attended their morning of celebration at Grove Corner. The Group meet weekly between 10am and 1pm and provide an opportunity to support each other and provide advice and guidance.
From here, the Mayor then visited the winning Christmas Window Display businesses and presented them with their prizes.
Lots of planning in the background for the next two charity fundraisers. Tickets are still available for Sunday 29 January for the Mayor’s lunch at Efes – all are welcome to attend. https://www.dunstable.gov.uk/event/efes-lunch/
The 24 Hour Dart-a-thon is certainly looking to be alot of fun with over 30 people so far stepping up to throwing some darts during the 24 hours. Huge thank you to the businesses and those individuals who have sponsored the event. https://www.dunstable.gov.uk/event/darts/
The week ahead is once again an opportunity to continue to build on community engagement; planning events and attending council meetings.
