Welcome To Priory House
Restoration to Priory House’s Undercroft is currently still taking place and is due for completion summer 2024. For more information please click here.
Please note that the Undercroft and the Jacobean Room will be closed, and therefore although the tea rooms remain open there is limited seating.
Priory House Tourist Information and Heritage Centre provides a focal point for access to, and participation in, heritage activities in the town. The house offers a fascinating insight into the incredible history of the area and beyond with a regular programme of events, demonstrations, talks and temporary exhibits.
Priory House also features a gift shop that offers gifts and local crafters and more. We are now the proud stockists of Frenchic paint.
A visit to the fully licensed Priory House Tea Rooms for a selection of delicious hot and cold beverages, freshly prepared snacks, hot meals, cakes and sundaes, is further enhanced by the wonderful view across the beautifully kept Priory Gardens, stretching all the way to Priory Church of St. Peter.
We also offer our famous Afternoon Teas, perfect for a special occasion or a nice treat for someone special.
Opening Hours:
Monday to Saturday 9.00 am to 4.30 pm (last food orders 3.45 pm)
Priory House is closed on Bank Holidays.
