Councillor Liz Jones has had a very busy first week as Town Mayor.

From a charity bike ride to Dunstable Town Council’s largest Motor Rally ever, she’s been showing up around the town and interacting with the community.

Presenting a Long Service Award to Town Ranger Jamie

On Tuesday 17 May, Cllr. Jones presented an award to Jamie Hodges to recognise his long service to Dunstable Town Council. Read more here.

Visit to Essential Workwear

Cllr. Jones visited Essential Workwear in Dunstable to see the print production facilities of the family run business. She learned how they work to support hundreds of different companies worldwide to get their merchandise on the shelf.

Charity Bike Ride

On Saturday 21 May, Cllr. Jones rode in the A-Plan Insurance charity bike ride to raise money for Hospice At Home Volunteers, one of the Mayor’s chosen charities.

Middle Row Markets

On Saturday 21 May, Cllr. Jones attended Middle Row Markets and had the opportunity to talk to local traders on Middle Row and in Ashton Square.

Attending the Dunstable Classic Motor Rally

On Saturday 21 May, Cllr. Jones attended the Dunstable Classic Motor Rally. It was the second event of Dunstable Town Council’s events programme, and it saw a turn out of nearly 200 classic cars and hundreds of visitors! She judged the cars and chose three winners who were each presented with an award. Read more here.

Thanksgiving Church Service of HM Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire

On Sunday 22 May, Cllr. Jones attended the thanksgiving church service of HM Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire, Helen Nellis. This was an opportunity to thank voluntary organisations and to recognise HM The Queen in her Platinum Jubilee year.
