The last month has been a little bit mad!
Mad in terms of fundraising for my charities with two large events having taken place and with the planning of two final events and my Civic Service. All of which have taken significant time and required collaboration with local businesses and the support of residents, family and friends.
My 80s night back in February was an opportunity to use three local businesses . Lisa Roberts Catering, 1981 Events and BBB Productions all provided their services to feed and entertain 70 rowdy guests all dressed in 80s costumes!
My Civic Service was held at the Priory Church and was an opportunity to thank the many volunteers and organisations that support Dunstable. I was proud to present a further two community ambassador awards to Hugh Garrod and Karen Linley for their support and work across the town over many years.
I’ve attended lots of events, met with many residents and talked to people from all walks of life. I’ve been encouraged by conversations and the support given to our local community has been enormous.
This last week I have held my Five Mile Run / One Mile Walk. Working in collaboration with Dunstable Road Runners we have raised in excess of £1200 for local charities. A great day with 135 runners registered ahead of the day and 50 walkers. I received great support from local businesses through sponsorship and services in the day;

Octave Music
Treacle Factory
Angliss Carpets

CYS Security

As I move into my final 8 weeks, my focus continues to be building connections amongst other local organisations and myself and my deputy have been and will continue to visit local businesses and organisations to try to bring people together to develop long lasting relationships where skills and experience support one another and help to deliver services across our communities.
My final two events have tickets available

Coffee Morning on 27th April at Priory View, Church Street
