Local book by Alfred P. Wire, edited by local historian Rita Swift. As the former headmaster of Ashton Elementary Church School, the author wrote a poem of 81 stanzas about Sally (the Medievel witch). This poem brought shame upon the local reverend, and eventually drew enough attention into prompting the Mayor and a few corporations into restoring the the churchyard back to good order after Sally’s demise.
