Before I look ahead to 2026, I want to take a moment to reflect on a fantastic 2025 and all that we achieved here in Dunstable.
2025 saw Dunstable host even more free events and activities as part of the Town Council’s 40th anniversary. New to our event calendar was the exciting Soap Box Derby, which had us all gathered at the edge of the giant ramp, waiting for the handmade go-karts to race down. We watched you dance and sing along with Craig Charles at Party in the Park and enjoy the music of 1985 at Dunstable Live both in Grove House Gardens. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the live performances.
Priory Gardens also hosted St George’s Day, Around the World, Priory Pictures, Dunstable Classic Motor Rally and Proms in the Park.
Middle Row Markets delivered a wide variety of events on The Square and along Middle Row, including a two-day Ashton Square Day, Young Traders Market, and both the Torchlight and Twilight Markets. We enjoyed welcoming families and friends to the monthly Street Food Heroes evenings and were delighted to see Vegan Markets and The French Market Join Middle Row Market at the start of the year. In total, Middle Row Markets hosted fourteen free event markets with free activities for families in 2025, more than ever before.
The Town Council also worked in partnership with The Quadrant on a major summer event, Dino Day, which filled both The Quadrant and The Square with roaring dinosaurs and free activities.
The Town Council supported local charities through its brand-new Community Lottery, with 32 good causes benefiting from the initiative. We also continued our commitment to the community through United Charities Day on The Square.
The town itself was blooming this year. Dunstable won Gold in Anglia in Bloom along with four Green Flags. A new pergola in Priory Gardens, telling the story of Dunstable’s past opened in October.
The Town Council has big plans for 2026, wanting to do more, achieve more awards and continue changing people’s perceptions of Dunstable. This is a beautiful town with so much to offer, so let’s keep celebrating everything that makes our award-winning community special.
I look forward to updating you with all the latest news from Dunstable throughout 2026.
