My final weekend as Mayor, and I want to sign off my monthly updates with a summary of the year that was.
Nominating my charities was important to me and to also confirm the desire to help and support several other organisations across our community.
Throughout the year I have held 13 successful charity events, helping to raise much needed funds and providing great opportunities to bring people together to have some fun, enjoy fabulous food and to listen to some enjoyable music from the 80s.
My year has focused on “community” and bringing people together. The local businesses have played a huge part in my year and have given such great support in so many ways.
A huge thank you to everyone for all of the support, and the kind messages I have received in recent days – I have been touched by them all and will look back on this year, and last year, with very fond memories.
I wish my successor the very best when they take on the role after the annual council meeting on the 20 May 2024.
