Are you over 16 years of age, a Photography or Media student, or is photography your passion? Dunstable Town Council is offering a number of volunteering opportunities for the 2026 event season.
This role is designed to give you experience, a professional reference, and a boost to your portfolio by putting you at the center of our town’s biggest public celebrations. You will capture the “essence” of Dunstable’s events, ensuring we have a high-quality visual record of the year capturing crowd atmosphere, performers, catering concessions, and stallholders.
Requirements:
- You will need to supply us with all photos within a week after the event
- Adhere to Dunstable Town Council’s photography policy
- A high-visibility vest must be worn during all event operations for safety and identification purposes
- Undergo a DBS check as the position involves working in public sector
- Access to your own camera equipment and editing software.
- Availability for one or more of the events listed below (we are looking to take on a number of volunteer event photographers so we are happy to work around your schedule).
- All assets will be owned by Dunstable Town Council (no watermarks), but you may use them as part of your portfolio.
- Safeguarding training will be provided

- Experience: Collaborating with a lead photographer and experience photographing events.
- Professional Credit: Your work may feature on official council platforms (Social Media, Website, and Print), giving you “published” status.
- Formal Reference: A detailed letter of recommendation upon completion of the season to help with your future job applications.
