The youth and community team have been very busy of late running a variety of different activities, projects, and provision for the communities in Dunstable.

There’s a lot coming up over the next few weeks across the town; here are some of the things the team are up to!

Grove Corner is the youth and community hub, located in the centre of Dunstable just on the edge of Grove House Gardens. There are all kinds of sessions taking place there every week.

Grove Corner has 4 Virtual Reality headsets, 2 Nintendo switches and 6 high spec gaming computers to game until your heart’s content! The centre even has a dedicated gaming session. Don’t worry though if gaming isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other facilities at Grove Corner such as pool, table football, music, FREE Wi-Fi, a big screen to watch YouTube, films and much more. Best of all, it’s all FREE!

The Pokémon project based out of Grove Corner runs every Tuesday during term time for young people, aged 8 to 18 with two sessions based on age. The group is a very inclusive group and welcomes anyone to come and join. You can trade, battle, share tips and tricks. Plus, our latest project is creating our very own Grove Corner Pokémon!

Community activities such as litter picks to encourage everyone to come together and make a difference, are another thing our youth and community team lead on. Officers will be holding community litter picks in different wards across Dunstable. The next litter pick is on Thursday 28 October, meeting at  Dunstable South Children’s Centre from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm

Why not join us for free half term activities at Creasey Park Community Football Centre! On Friday 29 October 2021, 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm come down for a frightful free fun day, where there will be 50 bags (first come first served basis) with creepy crawly crafts for children to enjoy.
