Middle Row Markets

It is with great pleasure that I can announce that Dunstable Middle Row Markets has won a national award; the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) Achievement Award, small markets. As the Town Centre Manager I was invited to Harrogate to attend the NABMA awards on Thursday 27 October. Middle Row Markets had been nominated for this national award back in the summer. Nominations from around the country and stories of achievements from all those that had been nominated meant it was going to be a tough competition. Middle Row Markets was developed a few years back from the Town Council’s regular themed markets and started with around ten stalls as part of its new farmers and craft markets.

A few years later the market had grown to around fifteen stalls. Covid hit, and Dunstable Town Council and the team behind Middle Row Markets put in strong safety measures and added small events during each market for the community of Dunstable. The market grew over this year and spread into The Square with great success.

Middle Row Market is now well established, in the heart of Dunstable on the second and third Saturday of each month, April to December. There is usually free entertainment during market days and events that bring the community back into the town, which has been a real positive for the area. Twilight Markets and Ashton Square Day have grown from its first year during Covid to this year’s where there are around forty stalls with free entertainment over three days.

The Town Council are very proud of the market’s success and look forward to 2023 with more stalls and more events for the whole community to enjoy. Come and have a look for yourself on 12, 19 November from 10 am to 3 pm. Enjoy the popular Twilight Markets on Friday 9, Saturday 10 from 3 pm to 8 pm and Sunday 11 December for 10 am to 3 pm. Every market is different with unique stalls and quality produce. Let’s make the last market of the year one to remember on the 17 Dec with free Christmas Lantern making and Christmas stalls for those last-minute gifts.
