Dunstable In Winter

Dunstable Cultural Consortium is delighted to have been awarded a £92,572 grant from Historic England as part of the Dunstable High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) to create and deliver community-led cultural activities on the high street over the next three years.

Dunstable Cultural Consortium’s first project, Dunstable in Winter, art trail competition is well underway and has had a fantastic response with over 50 entries. Participants were encouraged to produce a piece of art on a free supplied canvas on the theme of Dunstable in winter. All entries are displayed in shopfronts around the historic centre of town. The Consortium asks that everybody votes for their favourites – one in each of the three age categories. The trail went live on December 15th and runs until 22nd January 2022. Maps to help you locate all the entries are available in both physical and digital form. Prizes will be awarded by the Mayor of Dunstable, Councillor Gloria Martin for first and second place in each age category. Voting can be done online via QR code or in person using a leaflet. Voting boxes are available in Priory House and The Workhouse. Flyers are available from Priory House, The Workhouse and Dunstable Lock and Safe. For more information on the art trail competition and Dunstable Cultural Consortium have a look at their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/DunstableCulturalConsortium

Have a walk around our beautiful town this week and enjoy the art works on display and vote for your favourites.
