2018 marks the 100th year anniversary of the end of WWI. To honour this occasion Dunstable Town Council are hosting a special WWI Event. The event will be looking at life after the war and celebrate the feeling of hope within society at that time. Enjoy war time singers, have a go at poppy making and learn about life in the war.
Dunstable’s Peace Party
Nominate a young person
Did you know Peace Parties were invented after WWI to give something back to the children who suffered during the war.
These Peace Parties then evolved into the street parties we know today. Dunstable Town Council wants to re-create a Peace Party for the children of Dunstable, who may be going through a difficult time, who have overcome adversity or have over achieved and need recognition.
We are asking for people to nominate a child (8 to 18yrs ) to attend our Peace Party which will take place during the WWI event.
Nominees will get a free lunch and entertainment during the party and learn about stories from WWI and how it affected people living in Dunstable.
To nominate please download the form below and send back to Lisa Vincent by 1 May or e-mail lisa.vincent@dunstable.gov.uk
