The Teen Council have been involved in several projects in Dunstable so far, some of which we have been associates of the organisers and served on their panels, others we have provided recommendations for the Town Council committees, others have been almost entirely youth-led. Below are links to our completed, currently underway and proposed projects.

All of our projects are aimed at protecting, enhancing and promoting the collective interests of Dunstable’s youth, and either result from or lead to communication between young people and the Dunstable Town Council.

‘The Place’ Refurbishment

The Teen Council has applied to the Youth Opportunities Funds for money with which to refurbish a local youth centre – The Place on High Street North. We have been kindly granted £7650 for this purpose, which the Town Council has offered to match fund –doubling the amount! In addition to these funds Teen Councillor Lynette Wieland has also managed to secure an addition £500 which shall be used towards the same purpose. We would like to thank all the groups and individuals involved so far, including K2Go Kitchens for donating a kitchen to the centre. At this point the Teen Council is drawing up the exact items and work we shall have done. More details soon!
