With the aid of a £1.1 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), Dunstable Town Council have purchased Priory House in High Street South and are in the process of converting it into a local heritage and information centre.

Work has already started on the conversion, and it is expected to open during Autumn 2005. It will house a permanent exhibition as well as hosting an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions.

Priory House will also be home to local history store, serve as a base for events such as the Tudor Festival and provide classes and lectures on local history and traditional crafts.
