Dunstable Town Council comprises 21 elected Councillors who each serve for a term of 4 years. The next Town Council Elections are in May 2008. Town Councillors serve voluntarily and do not receive any payment or allowances.

The Councillors annually elect one of their number to be the Town Mayor.

Much of the business of the Council is delegated to 4 main Committees which meet on a two monthly cycle.

All meetings are held at the Council Chamber, Grove House, High Street North,
Dunstable and are open to the public.

Copies of the agendas for all meetings are available for inspection 3 days beforehand by clicking here or at the Council Offices and at Dunstable Library. Members of the public are welcome to ask questions about matters being considered at full council meetings. Advance notice is required by the previous working day and appropriate forms are available from the Council's Administration Manager.rosemary.smith@dunstable.gov.uk

The Council employs a team of 28 full-time equivalent staff, headed by the Town Clerk, David Ashlee, to implement policies.
